DO!! - Hang out with old friends from college that you haven't seen in ten years.
This is John and Stephanie Cassetto. I was in college at Lincoln Christian College with both of them. They have been at Manchester Christian Church in Manchester, New Hampshire almost as long as I have been here at CCC. They are on staff at an incredible church that is HUGE (by East Coast standards). That church is about to go multi-venue and probably multi-site shortly after. John and Steph were in town for the Willow Creek Arts Conference. (for lots of stories about that, check out Eric Bramlett and Dave Ferguson's blogs.) They also wanted to come by CCC for the weekend and go "campus-hopping" with me and see how we do our simultaneous Arts thing.
We hit Yellow Box on Saturday and Shorewood and Romeoville on Sunday. My wife and I, of course, also took them to Lou Malnotti's for Chicago pizza on Saturday night. TO MY SHOCK, I found out Stephanie was born at Edwards Hospital in Naperville! Even though, I only knew her ever as a Kansas City girl.
It was REALLY great seeing them.
DONT!! - Show up on Sunday morning to meet your old friend wearing basically the same shirt as him! Especially when your own Senior Pastor pretty much hates that shirt on you anyway. (Dave would not say hate. Dave would say, "
Is that tree growing out of your neck?")
