Big Progress!

We are flying now! Guy Monzel and Cary Winters built the entire stage in 48 hours (including lighting install). And it looks fabulous!

The video system went on-line this afternoon and is fully functional now. Right now I am just projecting on the black walls. When the screens go up next week, the images will be much, much  brighter. The outside images are skewed right now because they are pointed to where the screens will be on an angle. But you can see on the control booth preview monitors how it will appear when the full install is finished.

Apology!

I have received SO MANY great E-mails from people this week who are installing new tech system and have questions or people who are considering new equipment and have questions. I am a loser and haven't responded to anything this week. I am REALLY sorry and I will try to catch up next week.

Thanks,

Bill

A Great Day!

We got a lot done today. Started at 5:00 a.m. Still going at 8 p.m.

Stage is flying! All projectors work. I installed redundant lines to each projector. A DVI line directly above the clouds from the booth and a BNC video line that travels through all the conduit.

We also tested the overhead camera that gives the aerial view of the drummer. Works great.

Soldering and Wiring

We are still in a holding pattern until we hopefully get through occupancy inspections today, but we have been able to do some work on patch bays and video hardware. Thanks to the install crew who have been rocking so far: Steve Bailey, Doug White, Bill Terrill, Billy Terrill, Ryan Terrill, Sean Bublitz and Sam Menesses.

Photo Update for Theater 2

These are update photos for my audio install Director.

Aug. 20 - 9:30 a.m.

Bill - By the end of today (Tuesday), all carpeting and painting will be finished. They will also be doing a test of the house lighting system and the associated electrical today. I will be installing video rack units starting tomorrow. All computers will be set-up by the IT guys tonight and installed by tomorrow. We will uncover all of the lights and projectors starting tomorrow.

Stage construction will begin Saturday, so we will only have FULL access to the speaker clusters on Friday night. (via lift) We will still have partial access to the speakers after they finish the stage.

More Footage to Learn From

Hey Worship Leaders and bands. This footage is for you to get a chance to see and hear yourself. One of the best ways to improve is to be aware of what you are doing with your physicality and pitch. Pay special attention to transitions and eye contact with the audience. Worship Leaders - really listen to your talking and prayer moments.
I apologize in advance for bad video.
At Shorewood, I shot from the control booth and it washed the shot out. (But those clips SOUND really good.)
At Yellow Box, our camera people got a little too anxious and shot too many close-ups instead of full stage shots.
I really wanted to post "Dig" from Aug 12th at YB, but it was right before the message so the camera guys had to go ahead reset the cameras for the message. So the video of that song is really good audio of Leroy wailing away, but the video shot is of a blank curtain in the center of the stage.
Oops. Sorry.
