Tim Keller meets "The New Leader's Song"

Here is one more video clip from the Exponential Conference. God have mercy on our souls! (But it was great.)

NNHS - April 27th

Wow! What a fantastic day! I can't even believe how great the band and orchestra sounded yesterday at NNHS. You all came ready to play and blew everyone away! Thanks for also working so hard to add that extra song at the last minute. (The orchestration for the new passion song "God of This City" became available this week, so I had to fit it in this weekend. We ended up opening and closing the service with that song and it was awesome! It is also one of my two current favorite songs.)

Thanks so much NNHS Team 4. I can't wait to hear the orchestra play my other current favorite song "Hosanna" by Hillsong on week 4 next month.

We also got rave reviews on using the StuCo plasma screens as our "outside screens". (We were unable to use our projector and screen because the high school has a play this coming weekend and they have a large set on stage, as you will see from the pictures.) Big kudos to BT Norman and Bobby Herrera, my UNSTOPPABLE tech coaches!!

EXPO Last Day

Here are a couple more picts from our trip last week. We had the pleasure of having lunch with two more NewThing church planters, Joe and Sue Sutherland before we left for the airport. They lead a church in large retirement community outside Orlando.

NewThing Dinner

iWe hosted a NewThing dinner tonight at our hotel. We combined our event with a "Pastor's Talk" with Rick Warren. We had over 200 church planter's attend. It was good.

EXPO Plenary Session 1 and 2

The day has gone great so far. I think the programming is much better this year. I think we are really learning how to effectively program for this crowd. (Church planters are a different crowd.)

Much like last year, I spend most of my time locked in the media control booth to run the video.

Hi-Lite of my day: Andy Stanley came into the media booth to check his slides. He sat next to me and talked to me. Then...Bret Koontz sat down in that chair! That's right. Bret Koontz's rear end touched the same chair as Andy Stanley"s rear end within seconds of each other.

Here's 5 Camera shots of Andy!

NewThing Dinner Last Night

We went out dinner last night with 40 of our closest NewThing friends. That is always a good time when several of our teams get together. Great to just sit and talk to everyone.

Exponential Conference - Day 2

I just finished a small section of a pre-conference track with Jon Ferguson. We are now gearing up to produce the sessions for the conference itself that starts at 1 p.m. today. It is going to be really good.

The 2/42 band sounded great yesterday in sound checks.

TRUE STORY: David Crowder's agent called the guy who leads this conference multiple times to try and book Crowder to Worship Lead this event and he told Crowder's agent "no" multiple times because 2/42 was our band. No pressure there!
